Deep inside, Fred Flintstone is such a loving husband and a caring father. He will go out of his own clumsy way to help another person in need. Anxious to please, he may act a bit immature sometimes but all in a very endearing manner.

Suburban folks, they talked, related, and dressed up in a very contemporary way – with loose ends and bits of bones, stones, and shells here and there. That was the basic storyline behind the Flintstones, and it clicked with many televiewers. Actually, it was not just the Flintstones alone but more of an interaction between the Flintstones and the Rubbles. At any rate, these two families monopolized prime-time sitcom on ABC for six straight seasons from 1960 to 1966.
Popularized by Hanna-Barbera studios back in the 60’s and 70’s, The Flintstones had a big following among parents and kids. Everyone knew the melody and lyrics to the Flintstones Song. And because kids wanted more, a spin-off of the series gave way to the new adventures of Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm.
